Option Globetrotter GT MAX HSUPA PCMCIA modem card (OPTION GLOBETROTTER GT MAX)
The Option Globetrotter GT Max is the next generation data card bringing broadband speeds to laptops via the mobile phone network.
This Type II PCMCIA card plugs into your laptop and provides a high speed data link for Internet, Data and Email. The Option Globetrotter GT Max uses a normal data enabled SIM Card and connects to your mobile phone provider of choice.
The Globetrotter GT Max gives you the very latest 7.2Mbps speed when in 3G HSDPA coverage area. Offering EDGE and GPRS connectivity whilst outside 3G data connectivity.
Transparent IPSec pass though for connection to a corporate VPN is also supported by the Globetrotter GT Max.
The installation method, called "ZeroCD plug and play" allows the Option Globetrotter GT Max card to install and be used without having to install or download drivers from the Internet or a CD.

The Option Globetrotter GT Max data card uses a standard SIM Card from any network. It is recommend to use a Contract SIM Card, although PrePaid SIM Card will work fine. In order to use the Option Globetrotter GT Max you will need a data plan or tariff enabled on the SIM Card.

Option have integrated the antenna so it folds into the GT Max when not in use. The removes the need to unplug and store easily lost and damaged aerials and means the card is flush to the laptop when inactive.
The Option Globetrotter GT Max's aerial splits using a butterfly wing to increase signal strength. Option have provided status LEDs, red light for GPRS/EDGE and blue when the Option Globetrotter GT Max is using a 3G signal.
