T-ModemPCI is a quick, reliable and cost-effective solution, when you want to connect your desktop PC to the Internet and the only possible way of doing that is via GSM network.
T-ModemPCI is (as its name tells) a PCI modem card, which once installed, will provide you Internet connectivity without any wires or external devices. Of course, having a GSM modem, you will get special features, which are provided only by GSM modems only, for example sending SMS messages from your PC.
Apart of that being a perfect modem, T-ModemPCI may act as a watchdog timer of the server and provide reboot control, i.e. reboot the server upon hanging or request. For example, you have a remote server and it takes very much time to travel over there. Of course, you will do your best to make the server not to hang, but as practice tells, what may happen, will happen. So having T-ModemPCI in your server, you will be more confident, because in case of server hanging, system administrator will receive an SMS message that your server doesn’t respond. Then you may send an SMS message to T-ModemPCI to reboot the server. You may configure it to automatically reboot when server times out to respond.
We may also offer you a way to monitor various temperatures of the server and speed of fans. If the values are exceeded, system administrator will receive an SMS in a few seconds informing about the warning.
Of course, this modem will perform its main duty – Internet connectivity as well, in case your server loses primary Internet connection. So you will have a backup Internet connection, which will make your server more reliable then ever before. Properly configured, T-ModemPCI will add additional security and opportunities for system administrator, because server configuration may be carried out not through main Internet connection, which is insecure, but through backup Internet connection – GSM, which will be absolutely unknown to others. This is much more secure, because server will be connected to Internet via GSM only upon request.
You will also be able to emulate server COM port, i.e. your PC’s software will control server’s COM port, as if it was connected directly to your PC. This solution is needed for proprietary software control, old DOS terminals and routers.
